AKAYA Project survey

It aims to regenerate biological diversity and to ensure the sustainability of the government-owned 10,000-hectare AKAYA Forest in the northern part of Shinchi-chiku Minakami-machi, Gunma Prefecture. Nikon has supported the project by supplying field scopes, binoculars, cameras and other Nikon equipment for data collection and research since 2005. The company loaned equipment for a joint survey carried out in the AKAYA woods in 2007 by a group studying the golden eagle—an endangered protected species in Japan.
