Nikon is pleased to announce the introduction of
the AF Zoom-Nikkor 28-200mm f/3.5-5.6D IF high-power zoom lens.
Recently, there's been a great demand in the SLR market for portable high-power zoom lenses.
To meet this need, Nikon developed this compact and easy-to-use lens which offers a zoom ratio of approx. 7x --- the highest among AF Zoom-Nikkors.
It employs two aspherical lens elements which minimize aberrations including distortion, often a problem for high-power zoom lenses.
Plus, the lens Internal Focusing (IF) system contributes to faster autofocusing and macro shooting capability.
Of course, this new lens is a D-type Nikkor --- this means that the lens provides distance information to most of the Nikon AF SLR cameras for the most advanced exposure and flash control.
