Tokyo, Japan(Nippon) 1998-03-16 --- Nikon introduces a new addition to its digital camera lineup.
The COOLPIX 600, born of advanced digital technology, is extremely compact and light, weighing in at only 7.4 oz.(210g).
Fitting nicely in a pocket or briefcase, the COOLPIX 600 affords easy portability.
Nikon's wideangle (35mm [135] format equivalent to 36mm) lens and 800,000 effective pixel CCD provide sharp images.
Two Macro shooting modes offer versatility when shooting subjects close up.
To ensure quality images in a variety of situations, the COOLPIX 600 comes with 5 images quality modes 1) Fine, 2) Normal, 3) Zoom, 4) Multi, and 5) Wide.
The 2-in. LCD monitor uses a low-temp polysilicon TFT LCD, enabling easy viewing and flexibility in conjunction with the camera's 4 playback functions.
And, provided with the COOLPIX 600 is a Removable 8MB CompactFlash™ memory card for reliable, large-capacity storage.
The COOLPIX 600 package includes a Digital Camera Station, through which image data can be transferred bidirectionally between the camera and a PC at a maximum rate of 115kbps.
The station also features a video output, allowing users to monitor images on a TV screen (NTSC only).
Using the Digital Camera Station together with original software, slide shows, image compensation, printing of images and more are made possible.
