Supporting Children in Need of Social Care and NEET Youth

Nikon India Private Limited has been helping to provide home-based fostering for 100 children in need of social care through the activities of SOS Children’s Villages of India. In addition, the company contributes to the creation of employment opportunities and skills development support for approximately 150 NEET (Not in Education, Employment, or Training) youth through the Magic Bus India Foundation's Youth Skilling Program.

The event took place at the Artis Zoo in the heart of Amsterdam. Approximately 500 children enjoyed the various booths run by Nikon Europe B.V. employees.

Providing a Moment of Peace for Children and Families Living With Chronic Illnesses

Nikon Europe B.V. supported the Kinder Beest Feest event, which invites children with chronic illnesses and their families to enjoy fun outdoor activities. Employees operated two booths at the event. In the photography booth, employees took commemorative photos of guests. In the microscope booth, children had the opportunity to observe items under a microscope.

Nikon Singapore donated 939 food items, equivalent to about 300 food packs, distributed by Food From the Heart.

Food Drive to Reduce Food Loss and Raise Community Welfare

Nikon Singapore Pte. Ltd. held an in-house food drive to reduce food loss and to promote community welfare. More than 100 employees participated, donating unused food items to Food From the Heart, a non-profit organization that provides food assistance to those in financial need.

The French branch of Nikon Europe B.V. supports this contest every year through supplemental prizes for winners.

Sponsoring Educational Activities for Youth With Disabilities

The French branch of Nikon Europe B.V. has sponsored a student video contest, Tous HanScène, since 2017. This video contest communicates the reality of challenges and disabilities for students studying at institutions of higher education. The contest is held as an awareness campaign to encourage these young people to pursue higher education opportunities beyond the baccalaureat (high school equivalency).

Members of Nikon Precision Taiwan Ltd. visit each organization in person to make donations and contributions.

Supporting Local Welfare Organizations Through Matching Gifts

Nikon Precision Taiwan Ltd. provides donations and in-kind support to welfare organizations and children’s homes every year. The company encourages employees to donate money and provides matching gifts. In addition, employees bring in clothes and electronics to be donated to welfare organizations.

Raising Awareness of Brain Tumor Treatment and Research Support

Optos Plc participated in Wear a Hat Day, a charity initiative by Brain Tumour Research to support research and raise awareness of brain tumor treatments. Employees submitted photos of themselves wearing hats to raise awareness of brain tumor treatment. The company gave Brain Tumour Research a gift of £3,000, matching employee participation.

All employees of the France branch purchased sweatshirts and other items, donating 2,700 euros to the organization.

Supporting Children With Cancer Through Solidarity Collections

During the 13th Nikon Film Festival, the French branch of Nikon Europe B.V. created sweatshirts and T-shirts to show solidarity with Princesse Margot, which helps children with cancer and their families. The collection of apparel is available for purchase online from the apparel brand producer. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to Princesse Margot.

Approximately 180 employees participated in the collection of paper cartons. About 4,800 cartons were collected, which was enough to build two roofs.

Assisting With Housing Challenges Through 3R Activities

Nikon (Thailand) Co., Ltd. collected finished beverage cartons from employees and donated them to the Green Roof Project as part of 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) activities. The donated paper packs are used as roofs and delivered to people experiencing housing challenges due to natural disasters.

Employees bring gifts to the toy drive for collection, and the gifts are distributed to underprivileged children in the community through charitable organizations.

Nikon Canada Inc. holds an annual toy drive for underprivileged children during the holiday season. This charity event has grown in scale each year thanks to the generous contributions of employees.
