Main initiatives and results in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2017

Nikon publishes an employee-focused CSR newsletter in 15 languages with the goal of raising awareness about CSR. To check employees' awareness of the CSR newsletter, the results of the global employee survey showed that 85% of responses were "Have read it" or "Have read part of it," which exceeded the target of 70% of more.

The Nikon Group's corporate social responsibility (CSR) is to make its corporate philosophy of "Trustworthiness and Creativity" a reality through its business activities and contribute to the sustainable development of society.

Society around the world is confronted by a wide range of serious issues, including environmental problems such as depletion of natural resources and climate change, as well as issues concerning human rights and labor in the supply chain. To help solve these problems, companies must play a greater role than ever before. Accordingly, the Nikon Group has set targets for each of its CSR priority issues and is proactively carrying out CSR initiatives in an effort to contribute to the sustainable growth of communities worldwide.
