Multi-Turn Absolute Encoder

Multi-turn model incorporating predictive maintenance function to minimize the risk of sudden failure-induced shutdowns

Nikon absolute encoders (rotary encoders) incorporate proprietary optical and M-sequence absolute pattern technologies to combine high reliability with compact dimensions. Used in a broad range of industrial machinery, including industrial robots for automotive production lines and machine tools, they have won widespread acclaim as standard sensors capable of detecting the rotational displacement of robot arms and other equipment as absolute values.

Features

1. Incorporates predictive maintenance function

The encoder incorporates a new predictive maintenance function based on the compatible communication standard (A-format®)*. This allows early detection of potential failures and provides advance notification of the need for parts replacement and maintenance timing for industrial robots, helping to minimize the risk of sudden failure-induced equipment shutdowns.

  • *A-format® is a registered trademark of Nikon Corporation.

2. Incorporates proprietary angle accuracy self-correction function

It also features the proprietary Nikon angle accuracy self-correction function. This allows accuracy corrections without the need for a reference encoder*, helping to ensure improved operational stability and greater motion precision.

  • *A master encoder used to ensure the accuracy (position information) of the target encoder

3. Interchangeable with existing models

Interchangeable with existing Nikon absolute encoders, it can be installed without the need to make design changes in mounting parts.
