In our existing businesses starting with our Imaging Products Business, we are striving to improve profitability by accurately grasping the needs of society and our customers, thus providing innovative services and solutions rather than relying on conventional hardware sales. We are also focusing on transforming new businesses, especially the Material Processing Business, into one of our main pillars by providing new products and services while creating synergy with existing products.
We are making steady progress toward the goal of establishing a foundation for growth over the medium/long term that we set in our Medium-Term Management Plan. We are also strongly determined to advance various measures to swiftly reach our goal of ROE of 8% or more.
The business environment remains challenging due to the lingering effects of COVID-19 and other factors. To overcome this difficult situation, we will mobilize all our efforts and deepen cooperation between business units so that we can respond promptly and flexibly to the era of a "new normal."
