Miyagi Nikon Precision Co., Ltd. has participated in the Shiroishi-Zao Eco Forum since the forum's inception. This forum brings together local companies certified under ISO environmental management standards to foster environmental cooperation and contribute to local communities. Miyagi Nikon Precision takes part in a variety of environmental activities with other participating companies.

Participation in Earth Hour,the World's Largest Lights-Off Event
The Nikon Group has participated in Earth Hour, an environmental event organized by WWF, since 2010. Each year, people around the world switch off their lights at the same time to show their commitment to protecting the global environment.

Nikon Head Office
The Nikon Head Office held the Clean Walk in March 2026. Participants followed four routes to collect litter around the area surrounding the business facility.
Nikon Sagamihara Plant
In February 2026, Nikon Sagamihara Plant participated in a birdwatching event as part of the plant's environmental awareness-raising activities for local residents. The event was organized by the Association for a Better Sagamihara Environment, a group of local companies in Sagamihara City.
Other activities: Participated in the 2026 Sagamihara City Environment Fair, carried out cleanup activities around the plant, etc.
Nikon Kumagaya Plant
The Nikon Kumagaya Plant carried out cleanup activities around the south exit of Kagohara Station in April and December 2025. In May and December of the same year, employees also took part in the Zero Litter Campaign, collecting empty cans, plastic bottles, glass bottles, paper waste, and plastic waste discarded on the sidewalks around the plant facilities. In October, the plant carried out another cleanup around the main gate.
Nikon Mito Plant
In June 2025, the Nikon Mito Plant participated in the Mito City Environmental Fair, where the plant hosted the workshop Let's Explore the Microscopic World! Visitors observed nature through the Fabre Nature Scope, took part in quizzes, and viewed exhibits highlighting Nikon's environmental initiatives.
Other activities: Participated in the Hinuma Watershed Watching tour organized by Ibaraki Prefecture, presented the Nikon Award at the Hinuma Photo Contest, carried out cleanup activities along the nearby Ishikawa River, etc.
Sendai Nikon Corporation
In May and November 2025, Sendai Nikon Corporation carried out cleanup activities along the route from the west exit of Natori Station to the company and in the surrounding area.
Miyagi Nikon Precision Co., Ltd.
In June and October 2025, employees of Miyagi Nikon Precision Co., Ltd. were divided into two groups and carried out cleanup activities around the Ohtawara business facility.
Other activities: Carried out cleanup activities around the head office; participated in cleanup activities in the Shiroishi-Zao Eco Forum, etc.
Hikari Glass Co., Ltd.
In April 2025, Hikari Glass Co., Ltd. carried out cleanup activities around company factories.
Employee Awareness
Nanjing Nikon Jiangnan Optical Instrument Co., Ltd. (China)
In November 2025, Nanjing Nikon Jiangnan Optical Instrument Co., Ltd. employees and their families carried out cleanup activities in a rural area of Qixia District, Nanjing. Afterwards, environmental staff of the company gave a presentation on environmental protection and conducted an environmental quiz.
Hikari Glass (Changzhou) Optics Co., Ltd. (China)
In October 2025, employees of Hikari Glass (Changzhou) Optics Co., Ltd. were divided into two teams and carried out cleanup activities in the green spaces and along the roads surrounding company factories.
Nikon (Thailand) Co., Ltd.
In June 2025, 100 employees from Nikon (Thailand) Co., Ltd. planted 135 jackfruit trees.
Other activities: Carried out cleanup activities around the business facility, collected plastic bottles at a running event, etc.
Nikon Lao Co., Ltd. (Laos)
In June 2025, Nikon Lao Co., Ltd. held a tree-planting activity to mark International Children's Day and National Tree Planting Day. Eleven employees participated in the event in cooperation with the Savannakhet Provincial Department of Agriculture and Forestry.
Other activities: Carried out cleanup activities around company factories, etc.
Optos Plc (UK)
In November 2025, Optos Plc partnered with the Fife Coast and Countryside Trust, a Scottish environmental conservation organization, to plant trees. The organizations selected multiple tree species, including willow and hawthorn, and planted 180 saplings and 16 mature trees to support biodiversity and enhance long-term ecosystem resilience.
Other activities: Held Net Zero Week, an internal event encouraging low-carbon commuting and environmentally responsible behavior, etc.
Optos, Inc. (U.S.)
In July 2025, Optos, Inc. partnered with the Massachusetts Audubon Society, a U.S. environmental conservation organization, to clean up a local river. The organizations collected litter and removed unwanted vegetation to help restore and preserve natural habitats that support local wildlife.
Other activities: Established a collection point for electronic waste, etc.
Nikon Singapore Pte. Ltd.
In March 2026, Nikon Singapore Pte. Ltd. hosted an upcycling workshop in which 13 employees turned old T-shirts into tote bags. The workshop provided an opportunity to reflect on waste reduction and recycling.
Other activities: Collected used clothing for donation to charitable organizations, etc.
France Branch of Nikon Europe B.V.
The France Branch held the Climate Fresk workshop, an interactive program that explores the causes and impacts of climate change through cards, discussion, and group activities, to raise employees' environmental awareness.
Other activities: Introduced a composting and food waste collection system, etc.
