Light on Small Environmental Education Program
Nikon Europe B.V. works with the Dutch branch of the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), an international environmental education NGO, to offer Light on Small. Light on Small is an environmental education program using Nikon's Fabre stereomicroscopes. In fiscal year 2025, 2,615 children across the Netherlands used the program materials.
Giving Children Opportunities to Explore Wildlife in Forest and Waterside Habitats
Nikon Vision has held its Wildlife Observation Day program since fiscal year 2022. Working with the Wild Bird Society of Japan, a nature conservation organization, the company aims to give children the opportunity to experience the fun of science through wildlife observation while learning about the importance of protecting the environment. The program is held twice a year at a protected green space near the city and a seaside park, where families observe wildlife in forest and waterside habitats. A total of 260 children and parents have participated.
Nature Observation Activities and Workshops
Nikon India Private Limited worked with the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) to hold nature observation activities and workshops for 220 students. The students experienced nature firsthand and gained insights beyond what they could learn in the classroom. Through these activities, Nikon India supports education and environmental conservation while helping build a more sustainable future for local communities and the planet.
Tree Planting With the Local Community
Nikon Lao Co., Ltd. took part in a local government greening project. Eleven employees joined local residents in planting tree seedlings at this year's event. The participants' efforts help protect the natural environment and create a more sustainable future for the local community.
Akaya Notebook: Learning About Biodiversity Through Forest Wildlife
Nikon plans and produces the Akaya Notebook for children and as part of our support for the Akaya Project, a biodiversity restoration initiative. We distribute Akaya Notebook free of charge.
