Elementary School Outreach Program
In celebration of the company's 35th anniversary, Nikon (Thailand) Co., Ltd. held outreach classes at a local elementary school to support the children who will help shape the future. Students learned about social responsibility, DEI, and environmental conservation through interactive lessons and games. Nikon (Thailand) will continue working with local communities to support the growth of future generations.
Upcycling Used Fabric
Nikon Singapore Pte. Ltd. participated in a sustainability workshop organized by Green Nudge. Participants learned about waste management and upcycled unwanted T-shirts and other fabric items into tote bags and other reusable products during the workshop. Thirteen employees participated in the event, gaining firsthand experience with fabric upcycling. The workshop reinforced the importance of making effective use of resources and reducing waste while encouraging more sustainable everyday habits.
Creating Artwork for Donation to a Healthcare Facility
Employees from Nikon Precision Inc., Nikon Research Corporation of America, and Nikon Advanced Manufacturing, Inc. worked together to create artwork for donation to a local healthcare facility. Participants enjoyed painting six canvas panels with designs of their own choosing. The completed artwork was donated to the healthcare facility to help create a brighter atmosphere.
FeaturedCreating Lao-Language Picture Books
The Nikon Group in Japan participates in the Lao-Language Picture Book Project organized by Action with Lao Children (ALC), a nonprofit organization. Participating employee volunteers create Lao-language picture books by attaching Lao translations to Japanese picture books. ALC then distributes the completed books to school libraries and other educational facilities in Laos.
Unlike Japan, where books and bookstores are widely available, access to books is limited in Laos. To this end, the Nikon Group has participated in the program every year since fiscal year 2017 to help expand educational opportunities for children in Laos.
In fiscal year 2025, 47 of our employees participated and created 103 Lao-language picture books. A total of 561 employees have participated over the past nine years, delivering 1,228 picture books to children in Laos.
