Nikon introduces the MONARCH M5 10x50/12x50 binoculars

February 17, 2026

TOKYO - Nikon Vision Co., Ltd., (Nikon Vision), a subsidiary of Nikon Corporation (Nikon), is pleased to announce the release of new binocular models, the MONARCH M5 10x50 and 12x50. These models expand the lineup of the MONARCH M5 series, which has been on the market since September 2021.

Despite being large-diameter models featuring 50mm objective lenses, the MONARCH M5 10x50 and 12x50 overcome the common challenge of increased body weight typically associated with larger objective lenses through refined optical design and structural engineering. As a result, they achieve the lightest weight in their class* among binoculars with 50mm objective lenses that employ extra-low dispersion (ED) glass (640g for the MONARCH M5 10x50, and 650g for the MONARCH M5 12x50).

In addition, the large-diameter objective lenses deliver high light-gathering capability and resolution, producing a realistic and dynamic viewing experience. The 12x50 model, in particular, features a wide apparent field of view of over 60 degrees, allowing users to enjoy an immersive and expansive field of view. With these additions, the MONARCH M5 series now offers an even broader range of options to suit viewing preferences and various usages.

Like other models in the MONARCH M5 series, the MONARCH M5 10x50 and 12x50 employ ED glass to deliver high contrast and high resolution, while multilayer coating is applied to all lenses and prisms to ensure a brighter view. These binoculars employ a dielectric high-reflective multilayer coating and phase-correction coating to achieve brighter images with natural colour fidelity, making the world seen more realistic than ever.

The MONARCH M5 10x50 and 12x50 binoculars feature high optical performance with a large-diameter yet lightweight body, providing genuine observation experiences that will satisfy even dedicated hobby enthusiasts.

Ideal not only for birdwatching but also for a wide range of other uses including outdoor activities, stargazing, and marine use, these models are great companions for diverse scenarios.
