Nikon Group in and outside Japan
Participating in Earth Hour,
the World’s Largest Lights-Out Event

What is Earth Hour?

Earth Hour is a global environmental event organized by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), an international conservation organization active in over 100 countries.
Participants around the world turn off their lights on the same day at the same time to express a shared commitment to protecting the planet. Launched in Australia in 2007, Earth Hour has grown into one of the world’s largest environmental movements, with participation from over 180 countries and regions.

Nikon Group Initiatives

The Nikon Group has participated in Earth Hour since 2010. Each Group company takes various measures, including turning off lights at their offices, encouraging employees to participate, and encouraging their followers to participate through social networking.
In 2025, 49 of our companies participated across the globe.
