Main initiatives and results in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2021
Reduced the amount of waste generated by the Nikon Group in Japan and by Group manufacturing companies outside Japan

As part of our efforts to help realize the resource-circulating society, the Nikon Group has been implementing measures to reduce the amount of waste. In the fiscal year ended March 31, 2021, the total waste emissions from business processes were reduced by 15.5%, meeting the target of reducing the amount of waste by at least 1% from the previous fiscal year.
Reduced the Nikon Group's Water Withdrawal

The Nikon Group recognizes the vital importance of water resources, and appropriate water use management is being implemented at every Nikon business facility and at Group manufacturing companies. In the fiscal year ended March 31, 2021, the Nikon Group's water withdrawal was 3,640,000 m3, meeting the target of reducing water withdrawal to less than the previous year's total (3,985,000 m3).
