Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, visited Sendai Nikon

Sendai Nikon Corporation (President: Jiro Saito, Miyagi Japan), a consolidated manufacturing subsidiary of Nikon Corporation (President: Makoto Kimura, Tokyo Japan) received the visit of Thai Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra on March 8.

In Sendai Nikon, some employees from flood-affected Nikon (Thailand) Co., Ltd, a consolidated manufacturing subsidiary of Nikon Corporation, are working to help alternative productions. The visit of Thai Prime Minister was realized in response to her willingness to encourage Nikon Thai employees during her visit to Japan. The premier was received with warm welcome by Makoto Kimura, President of Nikon, Yasuyuki Okamoto, President of Imaging Company, Tsuneo Kosaka, General Manager of Production Headquarters of Imaging Company, and Jiro Saito, President of Sendai Nikon.

Thai PM Yingluck took a tour in the assembly line of digital single reflex cameras and enjoyed conversations with employees from Nikon (Thailand) Co., Ltd. She offered her appreciation and kind words of encouragement to them who work in Japan away from home. She also handled D-SLR "D4" which is manufactured in Sendai Nikon and was surprised with its high speed AF performance.
